His Philanthropy Efforts
Moez Kassam founded The Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation, named for Kassam and his wife, which donates to many organizations that aid vulnerable people across Canada, and especially in Toronto.
Since its inception, the Foundation has supported organizations that impact these primary areas of focus: food and shelter, healthcare, education, immigrant integration, and arts and culture, locally and globally.
The recent $2.5 million donation to the Sinai Health Foundation from The Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation is a prime example of a life-saving healthcare initiative. The gift will allow Sinai to bring its world-leading women’s and infants program to communities across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka through the launch of a new fellowship program.
Moez & Marissa Kassam Fellows will be selected for an opportunity to learn from experts in the Frances Bloomberg Centre for Women’s and Infants’ Health at Sinai Health. The goal is to have these trainees take their expertise back to their home countries to strengthen neonatal services in their communities.
Similarly, in 2021 The Moez & Marissa Kassam Foundation donated $1 million to the Michael Garron Hospital. Other health and medical organizations that the Foundation supports include:
- Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
- SickKids VS Limits Campaign
