You just booked an appointment with Confident Comfort, and now it’s time to get ready for your job interview! Job interviews can be nerve-racking, and it’s sometimes hard to tell if it went well or not.
Fret not, here are 4 signs you nailed your interview.
They Had Positive Nonverbals Throughout
If the interviewer was smiling throughout the interview, this is a good sign that they enjoyed spending the time with you. While some people are just smiley in general, if they smiled along with some other nonverbal gestures, like head nods, this is a major green flag your interview went well.
Nonverbals are an excellent way to tell how someone feels towards you without them speaking. Sometimes, they can reveal more than their words. Pay attention during the interview if they seem comfortable talking to you. If they seem relaxed and optimistic, this is a good indicator that the interview is going well for you.
You Get a Follow-Up Email
Some businesses always send a follow-up email after an interview. However, if you hear back within a couple days of the interview – this could be an indicator they’re interested in bringing you on board. Pay attention to the content of the email. Does it seem generic or is it more personalized to you? If they mention specific qualities about you, take this as a good sign!
You’ll want to be sure to respond to the potential employer if they send you a follow-up email. Express your gratitude for the opportunity to interview with them. This is also a great time to ask them any questions you might have forgotten to bring up during the interview. Trust me, interviewers like questions – so this is a good route to go.
They Tell You They’ll Be in Touch Soon
If the interviewer tells you that they’ll be in touch with you soon, this could be a sign you nailed the interview. Oftentimes, interviewers will not be clear on if you’ll hear back from them or not. Or, they might say you’ll hear back only if they plan on offering you the job.
At the end of your interview, see if the interviewer gives you a specific time on when you’ll hear back from them. They might not want you interviewing elsewhere, so they could tell you that you’ll hear back soon as a way to subtly tell you they plan on offering you a position. Fingers crossed!
Your Gut Says It All
Sometimes, we just have a gut feeling about things. Gut feelings are often to be trusted, as they are the most inherent part of us. If you just have a feeling that the interview went well, it probably means that it did. While this isn’t a fool-proof way of knowing, it’s certainly an excellent sign.
If your gut tells you that you aced the interview, it’s a good time to start getting excited. It’s important to keep in mind, though, that even if the interview went well – they might have other candidates who also nailed their interviews. Don’t take your resume off job listings just yet!
